Does anyone know the top speed of our v6 base model? I thought I read somewhere it 120mph? That's a little low, huh?

It may be speed limited to 120 based on tire ratings but I suspect it will do 130 on a good day on the right road surface and in the right ambient conditions.
Why not take it out on the road and find out?

I'm not advocating you break the law but without the speed limiter I would bet they are faster than 120.
YMMV

According to the European Website for Lancia (they sell the Chrysler 300 as a Lancia Thema over there) top speed is 240 km/h (that's 149 mph) for the 3.6L V6 with the 8-speed transmission.
They also offer two versions of a V6 3.0L Diesel with a 5-speed, the larger version does 144 mph.
Both go much faster than the highest legal speed limit in the US, which is on Toll Road 130 between Austin and San Antonio in Texas. Speed limit is 85 mph on parts of that road.
The previous generation 5.7L V8 is said to go to 156 mph, the previous generation SRT-8 is listed with 165 mph.

I've read somewhere it's computer limited to 114mph.

Mine shuts down at 119 mph. I suspect it is limited due to the T rated tires it was originally equipped with. It pulled extremely hard right up to the 119 mph shut off. All things considered, that is probably faster than I need to go anyway.

164mph (gps) on my gen 1 5.7 and she was still pulling, just ran out of closed track in Mexico! But.... Stock 136mph she hit a limiter... With it removed she made 150ish working hard when I backed out, could see 155ish...
Did a long pull in a Magnum 2.7 gen 1... It had a superchip and no limiter and made it to 130ish in a LOT of road.

Just a word of warning for anybody that is trying to see how fast their car can go - remember that the upper control arm ball joint stud is darn close to the top of the front tires. So although you can remove the speed limiter with a tuner, remember what your tire rating is - that is truly your speed limiter. If you exceed your tire speed rating then your tires will begin to lose sidewall strength and bow upward... right at that bolt. Slicing your front tires in half at that speed would obviously be catastrophic. Just sayin.
And, with that being said, I know a Gen1 5.7 can do at least 141. Just sayin.

Really well said, and to easily forgotten.
I run tyres rated at faster than the SRT is capable of

Yeah, I run W rated now. Good up to 168mph. More than my C can do. And more than I plan to do. But since I run 275/45/20 my tires are damn close - even though I've shaved back the knuckle a bit and the UCA bolt. But the extra tire speed rating gives me piece of mind.

Which in Kmh is 270. I will go W if they don't have the Y rated (300 kmh) but most have the Y in the performance category.
Handy if your on your way down to the local shops and decide to do a high speed run.

Here in the UK if you put underrated tyres ( max speed of your spec ) on you car, and had an accident the insurance would try and void your claim, Not sure if its like that your side of the pond.

Wow. Never heard of that. But I wouldn't put anything past an insurance company trying to squirm it's way out of a claim.

Back in 1989, we had some new Chevrolet Caprice patrol units. They came from the factory with V rated tires. When it came time to replace them, the tire store that had the contract with the county for tires replaced them with S rated tires when it came time to replace the worn tires. We experienced several high speed blow outs before we discovered what they had done. Luckily no one was hurt during one of these incidents. Needless to say all the sub standard tires were immediately replaced and the contract was awarded to another facility.
